Which one is correct?

Hello there,
Just a quick question. I have a doubt and I m wondering which sentence is correct.
Sam is a better student than his brother.
OR

Thanks guys for your help.
And reading some comments, I actually feel quite dumb for asking.
I believe the forum is meant to help each other, whatever the question is, and wherever we are from.
Have a good day.
