Is there such a word
|
Hello, dear friends.
I need your help. I wonder if there is such a word in English as a student on duty. In our school system we have students who don t go to classes once or twice a year but do some work in school- like taking different notices to different classes, helping to visitors to school, etc.
Thank you for your help.

In Turkey we have the same system. We also call it "on duty student" .
I also wonder if it is true to say like this? |

Waaaaaaay back in the day, I was a student aide for a teacher in middle school (mumble, mumble) years ago. I helped a teacher during one of my class periods every day by reading stories out loud to the students, straightening items in the classroom, and other such tasks. Is this the type of activity you mean? |

We called it a hall or school monitor.

The expression hall/school monitor seems to be the right word. I didn t realize that other schools know/have something like that, which makes me feel more "western". Million thanks.
