I wish you could send some our way Ed - we are into our 31st year of drought in my part of Australia. Christmas Day in my neck of the woods reached a scorching 42 degrees and the closest we got to snow was icecubes in our drinks. |

LB, it �s just a spelling mistake. As your esteemed Merriam-Webster says: "...the urge to spell it (lose) with an extra o sometimes proves irresistible...". |

Almaz I know it was a typo! But it is a common mistake many ESL students make - often because teachers make the same mistake. It was just a heads-up for those in doubt.
