I can remember when I was teaching 6th and 7th grades, I was having some competitions with the ss in groups.  Using the dictionary to check up some new and main vocabulary. I did give them a tour inside the class using cards of terms and other cards with definitions.
 
I distributed some of the terms and definitions and the rest are sticked on the walls. They have their tour to match them. You could only distribute definitions and tack the terms on different parts of the classroom. Ss will enjoy this activity a lot.
 
You can use Jigsaw reading, too. You can find  good ideas and information in
