The government will reduce our salary in February again. So, you can consider yourself a lucky person.

Here in Brazil, according to our brand-new president, who is a woman, teachers will have better salary and students will have to follow some "new rules" on education. I just don t know when... :(

I hope it comes true!!

We (state school teachers) have got an average of 5.7 - 7.4% (depending on our years of work) cut-down so far (not counting the cut-downs in Christmas bonuses, etc.) and there are more cut-downs coming...Oh, and our salaries were already low, especially given the fact that we have to leave our home towns to work and God only knows when (or if) we re finally getting transferred back home. Plus, the cost of living is rising every day...
And you don t even want to know how things are in the private sector...
So, as Yolanda has already pointed out, you can consider yourself lucky.
