Bolo-rei-translating into English!

Hi everyone!Does someone know the translation for bolo rei(Portugal name for a traditional Christmas  cake ) ?

I searched for the meaning and it said:"ring shaped cake made of eggs and dried fruit mainly eaten at Christmas".

In Spanish they call it "roscón" and in French "galette des rois".

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

as far as I know there ´s isn ´t "bolo rei" neither in the USA nor in the UK. So there ´s only the equivalent : Christmas pudding which is similar but not the same :)

Ring fruit cake aka fruitcake ring is the only one I know of.

Does it bear any similarity?

For Mardis Gras you often hear of "King Cake"--perhaps that would be an acceptable translation.
