I heard from a friend abroad that there used to be a funny UK show about an ESL class with students from around the world. Does anyone know the name of the show?

Perhaps the programme you have in mind is Mind Your Language.

I believe Jyothi is absolutely correct - the show (probably produced by BBC) is called
Mind Your Language.

It used to be aired in late 70s or early 80s, ran for about 6 seasons before it was pulled off (due to some uncalled-for activism).

I actually have the series on DVD but have stopped using it because it is so outdated that the students don �t really get it.
