Hi dear friends,
Whats the difference between a bad and a mean person? Ive used some online dictionaries but havent been able to get the exact difference.
Thanks in advance!

In British English mean tends to mean not generous with money, although we do also sometimes use mean to mean bad.

To me "mean" is along the lines of "cruel". "Bad" can be like "mean", but I d not say it was a direct synonym.

Mean means
*Cruel or not kind
ex. It was mean of her not to invite Jane!
in BrE also means stingy
Bad means
* morally wrong.
Keep away fro John. he s a bad man.
* wrong behaviour (especially children and dogs)
Maia was very bad today! Bad dog!
we also use bad when we talk about pollution (something harmful), accidents (sth severe or serious), quality, news (sth unpleasant or not good), etc.-
