Hi everybody!
Im a bit worried and dissapointed with my pupils. They are 11-12 years old. Today we had the final exam and last week we talked about what is going to be on the exam. The result: 5 pupils have failed and 2 have passed it... They arent motivated at all... and I dont know what to do to motivate them.
Any ideas?
Thank you

What about if you test them on things that you have taught them in class so they dont have to study at home?
Teach them with a range of things including music, video and games with specific learning intentions for every lesson so they know what they are learning.
Hope this helps - good luck

To motivate your pupils is a question of what kind of kids they are. If theyre active kids, you might want to try "hands-on" learning. Take them for a walk and choose a shop and point out the words in English. Use clay, coloring, songs, dances, rhymes, chants, films, books,,, what ever it takes.
A good teacher (which Im sure you are) needs to have a feeling for the type of children you are teaching, get to know them, find out what they like, their hobbies, interests, families, music tastes and build upon that. Show them you care and that you like them. Laugh, tell small jokes, read them stories, give them wonderful worksheets. Use your imagination!! But first - get to know them well.
good luck L
