HI!
Is there anybody who can tell my how to pronounce the name "Carruthers"? (With a u-sound or with a short a-sound?) I d be very glad if someone could help!
Thanks in advance!

The stress is on the second syllable, if that s what you mean. It s also the name of a place down Dumfries way in the South of Scotland. |

Almaz, I think Diana is asking how the vowel sound in the second syllable is pronounced. Is this pronunciation correct?
edit: Diana, scroll your mouse over the word to hear its pronunciation.

Thanks for your speedy answer and the explanation provided.
Now I realize that I should have been a bit more precise on my pronounciation question: How is the u in the name Carruthers pronounced? like the u in ruthless or like the a in castle.
Thanks in advance! |
