The Linguistic Kangaroo was initiated by IDEA (Institute for the
Development of the Education Assessment), which was founded by
representatives of the European Kangaroo Without Frontiers Association.
The member countries are Bulgaria, Belarus, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cyprus,
Moldova, Romania and Russia. The competition is of an entertaining nature
and assesses the language and grammar skills in English, French, German
and Spanish as well as the knowledge in history, cultural and literary
heritage, traditions and lifestyle of Britain, France, Germany and
Spain.
