Hello, dear colleagues... Can you please help me with suggestions? Next week, our school will host the 3rd secondary schools � district reunion. We have about 4 reunions a year at different schools. It �s our turn to host. And as hosts, we must also prepare the workshops for the teachers, and give the talks. But the SEP (Mexican Board of Education) gives us the guidelines and topics which we must present. For years, the SEP has been trying to implement teaching based on projects and competencies.
One of the problems I have seen in other reunions I have attended is that most teachers do not know how to actually implement lessons with this focus. That is, all the "theory" is more or less clear, but to most teachers it �s quite difficult to actually find or design activities in which students develop these life competencies.
I have a few activities I �d like to present at this workshop, but I would like to ask for your generous help in suggesting activities that can help me make this workshop really helpful for the teachers. I want to make this workshop dynamic, interactive, FUN! instead of just theory, theory, theory! Give them ideas for fun, practical activities they can take and implement in their schools and discover that teaching with this focus is not impossible or a burden.
Not too sure if I �m making much sense, or if what I �m asking for is clear enough. Have to go off to a class, but will check with you guys later tonight.
