Me again! =D ........ help plz!

Hi, again! Well, as some of you know, from my posts of these past few days, I m preparing a workshop on Competence Based Teaching.... well, I am going to include info on basic life skills, and I came across a doubt.... (I like to be well prepared, as I KNOW teachers will ask questions!)
What, in your opinion, is the difference between: Coexistence and Life in Society?

Life in society is when you participate, talk to people, get interested in what they re doing, share information and so on.
Coexistence is when you re close, like living in the forest, but you don t care what s going on around you.

By Life in Society, do you mean Life in a society / Living in a society?
I would use the article a here, because Society can have other meanings.
The main difference I see is this:
To coexist is to live side by side, but not necessarily be interacting.
To live in a society is to have interaction. |

The big difference for me is the interaction. Living in a society includes having a relation with the people around you. It is "compulsory" interact to live.
But , in a big city , we sometimes coexist because you don t know who is person living next to you. In a village, it s quite different, you live in a society. You interact more. |

Thank you all for your opinions, they are very useful and have helped me have a clearer understanding to be able to explain this to the teachers in my workshop!
Thanks again!!
