What īs the difference?

Hi again dear colleagues. can you help me please? I īd like to know the difference between genre and type of texts. When there īs a question about the type of text or the genre of the text, how or what should the answer be? thank you so much for your help. |

Hi
The genre refers to the literary genre such as novel, short story, drama etc Type refers to formal and informal.
I hope this can give a clue.

As far as I know, text types are like writing types such as descriptive, narrative but genre is used as a term for the category such as literature, music and so forth.

Dear colleague,
A text type is to say whether the text is narrative, descriptive, argumentative, descriptive or expository.
Note that all texts are somehow descriptive: that īs why we qualify texts as narrative descriptive.
Talking about text genre is defining a written text as a pamphlet, an obituary, a history text, or is it a biographical one. |
