how can we differentiate the addjective "tall" from "long"? I have�nt got any problem while using them. but Is there a clear explanation that I can tell my kids? so that they have a clear understanding of them.

Tall is always length -going up and down - and long - is from side to side.. think - long = length and tall = height

ladybird and zora thank you for the explanations. zora but when we say "my hair is very long" we use long. but hair is not side to side but going up and down. ???

Up and down... measured starting from the ground going upwards...
