Hello, Salwamel! The article "a" indicates SINGULAR, therefore, the correct way to write it would be: There IS a dining room, a living room, a kitchen....

Have a great day!!!

Salam

There is   is the answer according to grammar books. We use the is/are depending on the closest noun-which is in this case a dining room .

I hope I m right.

Good Luck

Definitely there is as it depends on the fist noun in the list:
There is a bedroom, a living room and two toilets in the house.
There are two bedrooms, a living room and two toilets.

salam :))) actually your sentence is unfinished "..." so it s not correct !!
better say "there are a dining-room, a living-room, a kitchen and a bathroom"
this is a good way to teach them "coherence" too, that is to say, when there are many nouns, we use a comma to separate them and add "and" before the last :)))

As long as the article is used ---- a ------ this indicates SINGULAR. You cannot use THERE ARE with a singular noun.  As Sophia mentions, if you say THERE ARE two bedrooms, a living room, etc, etc, then it s Ok, because the first noun immediately after the phrase "there are" is PLURAL.

"There is" is the right answer since the first noun is singular - as my colleages mentioned .
