hi dear colleagues. i had a problem in one of my classes with one of the texts in the book. " negative associations which suggest that left-handers are wrong in some essential way are embedded in the language." can anyone help me why "in some essential way" and not "in some essential ways"?by the way, punctuation was exactly the same! |

If I understand your question correctly, you re wondering, why the noun is in singular after the determiner some, right? Then here s the answer: the noun can be used in singular after some in two cases: 1. when it s used with singular nouns to refer to a person, place, thing or time that is not known or not identified; or 2 used to express a positive or negative opinion about somebody/something Which one is your option, you probably know better from the context (given the original text is fault free) Sophia
