I all, I got this one wrong.
John loves her but I just think she is cool. Correct answer: Run-on! Needs a comma.
I was taught and I teach that a comma is used to separate independent clauses, except when the joiner is an and or a but. So there are thousands of no comma but students around. Oops. Unless of cause it�s an Americanism.
