							| Please, could you take a look a the following sentence?   "She didn t realize until the following day."   Here comes my doubt: What would the correct question for the underlined words could be?   Honestly, I haven t seen many of these before.   Thanks for your help, as usual. | 30 Apr 2011

							| Hello Pilar, In my opinion there is somthing missing in your sentence. I would have said : She didn t realize the truth / that (something had happened) until the following day. For example.   I think of 2 possibilities about that now :   1) When did she realize what had happened ? 2) Until when didn t she realize what had happened ?   hope this will help.   Good week end. | 30 Apr 2011

							| Maryse gave an excellent reply, although her sentence #2 does not read very smoothly. I might say "How long did it take her to realize what had happened?"   Although her sentence #2 is a little awkward, it is probably the best way to prompt the students to use the word "until".   Bruce | 30 Apr 2011

							| Bruce s sounds correct to me. I d even add ... "did it take for her to realize ..." Could this be possible , Bruce ? | 30 Apr 2011

							| Yes, Alicia, we say it with or without "for".   Bruce | 30 Apr 2011
