I used to be a member of a super group called wordpool.  It is for people who are intersted or involved in writing for children.  It is a discussion group which will answer questions - very similar to this one.  I would suggest that you join it.  There is a lot of helpful information on the site as well as plenty of people who can advise from experience.  It is well worth becoming a member.
