Hmmmmmmm ... that was an interesting question.
When I did an internet search I found
James Burke (born 22 December 1936) is a British science historian.
So I guess there is such a thing.
It was the first time I heard of that term.
Have a great day!

Hi Urpi

"A science historian in Botany"

Although I havent heard this term I take it to mean a person who has specialised as a historian in the science field of botany. You could also say a Science Historian of Botany.

This is similar to when we say a Secondary Teacher in/of EFL meaning a secondary teacher who has specialised in EFL.

Cheers
