LIMERick + romANCE= limerance....
so it s a limerick about a romance, not a dirty one....
There once was a man with a rose
for a sweet lady with a very big nose.
His hopes were so high,
but he started to cry
every time he tried to propose.
But bigger than her nose was her heart
so she helped him get a good start.
She got down on her knee
and she said Marry me!
and after that they never did part. |

Miss K,
"Limerance" is a "Limerick" with a "Difference".
Here is an example:
"There was a Young Man of Peru:"
"Whose Limericks stopped at Line Two".

PS. Heres one that I have specially written for Brian Boydegg, for his Limericks Post
A Mouse and She-Elephant Teacher,
Were married, in front of the Preacher:
As they stood side-by-side,
He said: Now, kiss the Bride,
But, sadly, the Mouse couldnt reach Her.

Miss K, I think LIMERANCE is a specific kind of lime that grows on trees in France and is used in alcoholic drinks, such as the (in)famous Lim-mojito! Valentina |

I don t know what dictionary everyone else is using but the dictionary I use defines LIMERANCE: An invonlutary state of mind which seems to result from a romantic attraction, some would say obsession, for rancid limes. |

Limerance was coined after the great Liberace and means "anything greatly extravagant but that has exceptional talent".
