Remember the slapstick comedies where men and women exchange quick, witty, naughty remarks??? Well the art of doing that well is cruciverbalism! I d say Katherine Hepburn will never be surpassed in this art! Especially her conversations with Cary Grant and Spencer Tracy!

Verbal crucialism in Linquistic -- one of the seven intelliences, the representatives of which are William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson and ESLPrintables members.

My fav. Leonardo da Vinci was a genius in all of the seven intelligences!!! (Logical-Mathematical, Verbal-Linguistic, Satial-Mechanical, Musica, Bodily-Kinestheic, Interpersonal-Social, Intrapersonal ( Self-knowledge) So, how to think like Leonardo da Vinci is here :)

You are way off Maple. In the word cruciverbalismthe prefix cruci comes from the latin cross as in the Spanish crucigrama which means crossword puzzle. Verbal of course refers to words and ism as in cannibalism, a manner of action. Therefore our word refers to the act of eating the words you come across. This of course is in reference to bookworms which are not actually worms the larval of several types of moths which enjoy burrowing into the pages of books, especially books whose pages have been tenderized by father time and thus eating the words on the pages. I hope this is helpful. Ed

CRUCIVERBALISM
It sounds something like the act of crossed people talking at the same time about different items.
