If you mean the �established� or �official� church in England, then it is definitely the Church of England. I�m not too sure how Protestant it actually is, but it�s certainly the central church of the Anglican Community.
The Church of Scotland (known as The Kirk) is the major church - strangely enough - in Scotland and is completely independent of the state. It is Protestant and Presbyterian while the much smaller Scottish Episcopal Church is Anglican (and sometimes humorously referred to as �The English Kirk �).
Incidentally, in Scotland, we were always taught to avoid discussing religion, politics and moderators� arcana in �mixed company�
