Different uses between each and every

Hello all kind teachers! As we know, every and each are the same meaning and use. However, in some cases, we just use every rather than each and vice versa. Can you help me explain why we use this one not that one in the following example:

The bus arrives every 10 minutes.(not each 10 minutes)

I greatly appreciate for your help!

Hello xuanguyen87,

How do you do?

Each expresses the idea of one by one . It emphasizes individuality.
  • Study each sentence carefully.
  • Each book was a different colour.

Every is used to say how often something happens:

  • There is a plane to Bangkok every day.
  • The bus leaves every hour.

I hope this explanation is also helpful. Have a stree-free day!
