Hello Ivush, If I were you, I would buy some English magazines for kids and teens and copy the ideas from there - interesting topics, sections, layout... They are cheap and they are made by professionals. Try Mary Glasgow or Scholastic magazines, for example... or Hello! (for learnging Eng) or Bridge (for teens), available in the CR. Or try to search for ONLINE MAGAZINES for kids. They are great source of inspiration!!! (National Geographic website - cool facts on animals...)
This topic has been discussed before so you might try these links (or search for "School magazine" "english newsletter" "English journal"):
TOPICS: personality tests, multiple choice tests on animals ("what kind of animal would you be"), quizzes, crosswords, jokes, matching ex. on jokes - Why is sky blue? / Because it...), English recipe, comic strip, advice column, short articles, mini-stories (written by ss), looong story written by teachers (in SEVERAL (10) PARTS), section on famous pple, school events, up-to-date info about the school/town, interview with teachers (funny), latest movie review, sports events, place of interest, interesting holidays,
