Dearest friends: First of all, I d like to thank Victor for the great efforts he invests to keep this site up.I wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to all of you who put your time and energy into doing and sharing such great work. Actually, I m preparing a worksheet for my elementry students which is about English speaking countries. My question is very simple. What s the most famous monument or Land mark in New Zealand? I searched the net but was a little bit confused. For South Africa I found Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria but am not sure abt it Thanks again for your priceless help. Best regards.

You d probably get as many different answers as there are New Zealanders (!) but I would say the most famous landmark in NZ would be the Sky Tower http://www.skycityauckland.co.nz/Attractions/Skytower.html lt s certainly the one that all my students have always heard of.

Hi Mabdel,
I agree with piet88 I would say the Skytower in Auckland or you have the Beehive (our parliament) in Wellington. Or because of the earthquake in Christchurch that you students may be aware of Christchurch Cathedral. Hope this isn t too late and helps :-) |
