I would say "deals with", as I guess it is about a topic of discussion. The term "abordar" translated into English as "approach" has to do with coming closer to a person, at least in one of the Spanish meanings of the verb. We use it with the meaning "deal with a topic, issue", I guess that�s what you mean in Portuguese, too.
