Webquests - how to upload/share them.

Hey all! As a relatively new user I have a question as to how you can share webquests. Looking under the category on this site I cannot see any real webquests using the definition from Burnie Dodge (see http://webquest.org/).
I have written a few quests that I would like to share with the community here - I have been an avid user of the contributions on this sight and thank all for saving me a lot of time - there always seems to be a worksheet when you need one :-) and therefore would like to share more of my work and at the same time get more resources available for me to borrow.
Here is a link to one of my quests - you can find links to the others on the about page.

I haven t checked all of the links in the quests, but a comment on the about page will spur me into action and correct the error :-)
Hope that there are other questers out there who want to share and that my contribution will inspire others to use webquests.
Good weekend
Cindy

I shared one webquest as a worksheet, and I ve seen other users do that as well. You could also upload instructions as teacher s notes ws and include the link to the actual webquest. Sophia
Edit: Ive just checked some of the webquests available here and Im just curious why would you discard them as "real" webquests? Ive been researching the topic and cant see what you mean.

I wouldn t say that I was an expert! I did however write my bachelor paper about them so I have read a lot!
I have to confess that I haven t looked at them all, and I think that yours has potential - I liked the idea a lot, but to be a proper webquest IT should be a must not just a handy part! If students had to produce a blog about the visit or an online newspaper or some thing like that.
I have also made a webquest about making a webquest...

Thanks for your tips, Cindy. You see, where I come from, students aren t that knowledgeable about producing web pages, but they are very much into social networks. I ve been exploring IT as a tool for my English lessons but the problem is we don t have fully equipped language labs at school and it s next to impossible to book the only computer room available. The multimedia clssroom has only one computer and a smartboard. Another thing: my students are not as autonomous, so if I give them the webquest as homework, most of them will skip it and avoid doing the task (they d rather get a negative mark, than spend hours doing something meaningful) I ve been thinking about starting a blog for quite a while, but it seems to be quite time consuming and I haven t decided on the platform yet. What would you recommend? (I have to mention though, it has to be a free service) Sophia |
