How would you translate the expression "fellow beings" into Portuguese?
Thanks in advance!! |

Hi, You ve noticed that you don t have an answer yet. It could be because "fellow beings" is not a usual English expression, so people might not know just what you mean by it in English. Please use it in a sentence, and maybe someone will come up with the Portuguese. Bruce |

I d have to disagree Bruce - I ve heard fellow beings loads of times, when referring to other humans.
"I don t understand why people aren t kinder to their fellow beings"
No idea about Portuguese though, sorry... |

Hi!I think it s very colloquial and it means"pessoas, seres humanos" or"companheiros".

Thanks a lot for all your help, dear fellow beings ;-) in the sense of "companheiros"/fellows.
Yanogator and Sulekra, in English it would maybe correspond as Teresa suggested to companionship/mates....
I understand it in an humanistical acception of the word.I also translated it as "semelhantes"in a religiious point of view.
For example, "fellow workers" or "school fellows" all have an affectuous tone, don t you agree?
Hugs!

Hey, Sulekra, Maybe it s just because I m old, and "fellow beings" is replacing "fellow man" as a more PC expression for others. Thanks for enlightening me. Bruce |
