"Verb patterns" in Spanish and German
|
Hi all
Can anyone tell me how to say "verb patterns" (ie. whether verbs are followed by an infinitive, gerund, etc) in Spanish and German?
Thanks!

I would say "Verbbildung" in German. According to Leo.org "Wortbildung bei Verben" is OK, too.
"Verbmuster" which is made up of the exact translation of the English words "verb" and "pattern" seems strange to me, but according to the Leo forum even that is apparently OK.

I tutor students in English and French here in Spain.
I agree with josecarmen ie perifrasis verbal . Explaining ..... combinacion de dos unidades verbales que funcionan como un solo verbo ............can help to clarify the term for your students.
Please excuse the absence of acents......my lap top is lacking.
Best.
