Hi! A teacher corrected the following sentence in this way: I don �t like playing tennis but he LIKES. I think "likes" is not correct. I think...but he DOES is more correct. Do you agree with me? Thanks for your help!

You are right. You can say: I don �t like playing tennis but he DOES. I don �t like playing tennis but he LIKES (PLAYING) IT.

"He likes" is NOT a short answer response : "he likes"+ a complement, is needed, otherwise, it is not correct. - �like � cannot stand alone ... like + something (you) like.
short answers: yes/no + subject + helping verb (do/did/BE/have/has/had/modal)
ei Yes, I do/ Yes I did/ Yes,I will....

"Likes � must have an object; so you could say "He likes it" or better still, "he does." Cheers Joy |

when you use he likes, you must complete the sentence to the full grammatical version with an object and so on..
so he does is the correct one.. |
