We are a high school in Kocaeli, an hour far from İstanbul, in Turkey. Our school is the first coordinator school in comenius projects in our country. We have 40 well-qualified teachers and about 700 students aged between 14 and 18 . Our inventive students are eager to learn and produce, especially foreign languages, both German and English. Yet they don �t have many opportunities to practice their language. We �ve thought that making project can motivate them and give a chance to use their foreign language to communicate in real life. Another reason is that our country has a rich cultural diversity. Through the ages lots of different nationalities lived in Anatolia and characterized our current culture. We want to use this diversity to compare our custom...s and social life with other cultures �. Through this comparison we will be able teach our students different kind of traditions and life styles. By doing this we aim to make them be aware of other cultural values and introduce ours. We �ve chosen wedding ceremonies as project topic.
First look, first smile, first love, first and last words �YES FOREVER�� These are the process of marriage. We want to study on wedding ceremonies in different cultures. Weddings are the times people share happiness. LET�S SHARE OUR HAPPINESS and WITNESS EACH OTHER.
We need partners to study on this topic. We are open all ideas to develop it.
