what ´s wrong?

Hi dear colleagues In one of the tests I work with, there are two questions I d like to ask your help about.
1. - I don t like meat very much - You don t have to eat it if you don t .......
a) like b) feel like c) want d) want to
d) is correct, I can feel that b) is not but I can t explain it. Any suggestions why b) would be wrong?
2. I may not like her, but I ll say THIS much for her - she s one of the brightest people I ve ever met.
What function does the word "this" have in this sentence? Is it an adverb and refers to "much"? Or is it a determiner and refers to "say"?
thanks a lot

bc you would need it to be "feel like it" and obviously "it" isn t there.
this much is an idiom.
