Hi Pretty,

What is your nationality?  I think you are Saudi.

What do you do? / What s your job/ occupation? is also OK.

Best regards.

Hi,

Of course we say: What is your nationality?

Concerning Qt 2, we may say both:

                                 What`s your job?
or

                                 What do you do?

Best Regards.

Dear Pretty3,

In my opinion, these questions are simply different versions of the same question --- one is not better or worse than the other.  They are both acceptable.  Some people may prefer one to the other, but that does not make them better.
1) What is your nationality?
or
2) What nationality are you?
I prefer number 2, but it is not better than number 1.

Compare the questions above, with the questions below.  They are ALL acceptable.

1) What is your age? What is your profession? What is your Level in English?
2) What age are you? What profession are you? What Level in English are you?

Im a teacher.  What do you do?/What s your occupation?/What s your job?/What do you do for a living?

These are all also normal conversation questions.  One is not better than the other.  The speaker chooses to ask the question that he/she prefers to use.

Very surprised to find out that it is acceptable to ask What age are you or whats your age.. I thought the only possibility to ask about age was How old are you? So is it also acceptable the answer:
 My job is a teacher?

Dear Pretty,
I dont think that the answer "My job is a teacher" will be correct.
"I m a teacher" sounds much more natural.
Bye!

Q: What s your nationality? = What nationality are you?
A: I m Argentinian (or I m from Argentina)

Q: What do you do? = What s your job?
A: I m a teacher.

(To me Whats your occupation? sounds overly formal)
