Hi,

Is this answer for this question correct, please ?

Compare using the words in brackets :

1- Ali is 20 years old. Khalid is 20 years old.         ( as ....as )

Can we say :
Ali is as young as Khalid ????

or

Ali is as old as Khalid ????

Thanks a lot in advance

Both are correct and it would depend on the circumstances e.g. Ali didn t know about the latest pop group, but Khalid did and Ali is as young as Khalid.

But unqualified, you would just say, Ali and Khalid are the same age.

Maybe you could say: Ali is the same age as Khalid

You guys are ignoring the fact that the structure to be practiced in this exercise is "as... as" just as Pretty has clearly stated. So, Pretty, I d say the correct option here would be "Ali is as old as Khalid"

I totally agree with ueslteacher. That s the comparative of equality.

Best wishes.

We would normally use "as old as" unless there is a specific reason to use young as cunliffe mentioned above. The default is "old."
