Hi there!

Will you help me with this sentence, please?

I need to choose the correct linkers (more than one may be possible) for this sentence

Unfortunately, your letter arrived after the final date for applications.   _______________ we cannot consider you for the post.

 a. As a result      b. Consequently   c. For this

My question is if option C is also correct. If not, why not?

Thanks in advance

I don īt think option C is right, the one that sounds best to is b, though a looks ok too. Option b is formal, the same as the sentence
Hope it īs useful, Juliana

I would write consequently or as a result.. Both used as adverbs in your sentence.
I won īt choose for this since in my opinion it should have said FOR THIS REASON..
Hope my opinion helps you!!
