Sorry for not replying earlier, but at that time I had to go to work and I just got in! So I read all your post and quite interesting answers. Well, I was looking through a grammar book and it had that sentence. I automatically said that it meant: I didnt see anyone! But it had another meaning- It said. I saw someone! Confusing?

If you use a negative auxiliary, you have to say: I didn �t see anyone, but if you want to use the word "nobody" you should say "I saw nobody" both sentences mean the same.
