Syllables

Hi,
My questions might sound dumb but how many syllables in the word country ?
I think there are two syllables, is that correct?
Thank you

Only one.The syllable is any number of vowels between two consonants.

No, the vowels don t have to be between consonants to make a syllable. Otherwise "aloha", which has three syllables, would have only one, and "apple" would have no syllables.

As manonski said, it is 2.
