A hand me down book?
|
Hi, I was wondering if the following expression is correct:
Any hand me down book is not allowed.
What I want to say is that they cannot use a given and answered book, but I m not sure if I m using that expression correctly.
Thank you for your time.

You could say:Any previously used book. Any book that has been written in. Hand me downs are usually clothes which are passed on to the next child in the family when the older one grows out of them. |

I agree with Apodo. Hand me downs usually refer to clothes that are handed down from one person to another.
You can also say:
No books that have been written in / used.
