Please tell me which sentence is correct : I �ve read the Robin Hood story, or I �ve read Robin Hood story. I � m confused and I don �t know which one is correct. |

Go with us native speakers on this: "I have read the story of Robin Hood." Part of the reason is that really, Robin Hood is a story, not a real person.
Another reason to avoid the possessive form here is that Robin Hood didn �t write the story. When I say, "I have read Edward Hoch �s story," I usually mean the story that Edward Hoch wrote (or at least a few of the nearly 1,000 he wrote), not the biography of Edward Hoch. |

�I �ve read the Robin Hood story� is fine, there isn�t a problem with that. Moody is right on the point she makes.
