would and would like

Hi, there!
Tell me which response is correct:
Would you like some soda?
Yes, Id love to, please. or Yes, I would.
Are they both correct? If not, why?
Thanks a lot dear friends for your help.

"Yes, I would" is the correct answer here, although "Yes. I d love some" (not to) is also correct. You wouldn t use "I d love to" because there s no infinitive verb in the original question, only the direct object "some soda."
Hope that helps! |

I d say grammatically speaking Yes, I would is correct, but it s too emphatic and people would just answer Yes, please or maybe just Sure. |

Yes, I d love to. is NOT correct. it would only be correct if you had asked the question with a verb, eg. would you like to dance?.
Yes, I would IS correct.
Most people would just answer - yes, please |

I don t consider "Yes, I would" to be too emphatic, but it is very formal. If you are visiting the president of your country, you might say that (followed by "please", of course), but in normal usage, you wouldn t.
