Thank you Douglas for chosing my definiton.
Here is the new word to redefine.
The idea is to give an alternative/witty, smart, silly/deep meaning, not the original/real one!
Just for fun.....
PREPONDERATE
I will choose the winner tomorrow evening, enjoy! |

to ponder - to think pre - before to rate - to evaluate
preponderate - to misjudge your students before you listen to what they have to say:)

What a nasty verb.
Everybody knows you re not supposed to eat before you go for a swim. You risk all sort of nasty conditions. Preponderate is one of them, except it s not a symptom but a verb describing it.
pre- before pond - small lake (the syllable -er makes ist a VERY small lake) ate - past tense of "eat"
So you made the big mistake of eating something, of having a big meal before going for a swim in the lake , did you?
Well, now you re going to PRE-PONDerATE
--> you re going to feel as heavy as a millstone you ll be sure NEVER to digest whatever you had for your meal you re hardly able to move your limbs in the water and fear to sink to the ground like said millstone
That s the physical side of preponderating. The mental side is
--> feeling stupid and ridiculous swearing you ll never do it again knowing right well that of course you will, being such a weak personality having to deal with the mockery of your friends
So there you are! If you had only listened to your Mummy!

Prep: Pre-exposure Prophylaxis, or medicine a non-infected partner takes to lessen the risk of contracting HIV
On:
Rate: Percentage
So preponderate must be the percentage of lovers wanting to avoid AIDS who are willing to take medicine every day to reduce the chance of contracting the disease. Easy! |

Preponderate is to rate a pond before one has seen it or been to it, a ploy which some unethical travel agents use to lure tourists to destinations they get paid high comissions for. Ed |
