Thanks evryone for playing and exercising your wits (not an easy task for me at the end of the day:) The actual meaning of this strange word, which doesn �t even sound English IMHO, is kakorrhaphiophobia - an abnormal fear of failure
May you and your students never know it!
Your definitions were really creative and some were very elaborate:)
But I was captivated by a not very dictionary-like remark made by Lynne:

I see that the Members who enjoy the fun of the "Word of the Day" Competition, also find time in their busy lives to work and help others. How? They submit countless Worksheets to ESLP, which are then used in class by numerous other grateful Members.
By sad contrast, there is one Member who sits "at her desk" all day, and makes no contribution to ESLP. She signs herself: "YAWN".
