Hi, Transmitting has a much broader meaning than brodcasting. to transmit can be used in a variety of contexts. eg: transmit an infection./ transmit an information...etc Whereas Broadcasting is only related to information sent out through television or radio programs. I hope it is going to be useful. Good bye! |

Also, in the context (which I am assuming), transmit is more functional/electronic/physical, while broadcast is more about the material being transmitted.

Broadcasting has a general audience. You almost never broadcast to a specific person or group.
Transmit generally has an intended target of the action.
Ex: "We are broadcasting live from New York!" (performing the action, but with no recipient)
"We are transmitting the files to you now." (There s an identified receiver of the transmission.)
Also, broadcast is used generically, typically used only for news, whereas transmit refers to something specific--i.e. files, disease, signal, information. |
