I wish I were. Both in conditional senteces and I wish ones the correct form of the verb to be for all the pronouns is were. |

However, that "rule" is quickly fading from lack of use. Many people, and nearly all children, would be much more likely to use "was".

I agree with Bruce and Sophia. Both are acceptable and �was � is becoming more common place.
