agriculturer or agriculturist

Hello,

A strange question but still, which is correct - agriculturer or agriculturist?

Somehow I remember as a school kid (in an American school) using agriculturer and not, agriculturist. But now on the Net I keep seeing agrculturist?!? So did something change? Or have I lost my memory completely? I did see on Wikipedia agriculturer used as a synonyme to farmer..

Thanks for your answers!

It s agriculturist.
http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/agricultural#agriculturalist

And it s a very reliable source. I couldn t find agriculturer to see its meaning.

Dictionary.com  doesn t have "agriculturer", but it does have "agriculturist", meaning a farmer or an expert in agriculture.

agriculturist and agriculturalist are the same. I agree, Lynn, that agriculturalist is more common.
