The Word ´objective ´

I ´m writing vocabulary questions for the exam. The word I want to test is ´objective ´. Will it be wrong if I ask students about their objectives? or is it only the teachers who have objectives in teaching? They are just 13 years old students. What do you think? My question is: What do you have to do to achieve your objectives at school? thanks in advance... | |

"Objectives" sounds rather formal for students. Referring to their studies or perspective on future college education it would be better to use goals. So I wouldn ´t recommend this question for the test. Why not use it in a dfferent context, something like: What do you think the main objectives of the .... educational program (something that you have in your school, run by the government or the school board) are? Let´s see what the native speakers think. Sophia

Thanks a lot, Sophia... :)) Yes I agree with you. I have some doubts about this question. And thanks for your suggestion but as I said they are just 13 and I ´m not sure whether they can give opinions about the objectives of an educational programme or not. Some native speakers will proofread it tomorrow so let ´s see what they are going to say.
