Dear
members,
I have to
design an English syllabus for a Travel and Tourism course (160 hours), and I
do not know where to start.
I wonder if
you could help with some ideas or reference teaching resources.
Thank you
in advance.

Writing a syllabus is a specialised and time consuming task which shouldn t be expected to be done by teachers.
I recommend using a reputable course book and use that instead of starting from scratch. Look at at contents pages and you ll have your syllabus.
Possible candidates could be English for International Tourism from Longman (3 levels) or Highly Recommended from OUP (2 levels).
Google will tell you more about them :) |

Thank you very much for your advice.
I have already found some interesting resources.
The course is aimed at Spanish speakers who are training to work in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
I will not be the person in charge of teaching the course. I am a language teacher, and I have been asked if I could collaborate in this project.
Have a nice day! |

Hi, we are working on an open curriculum about travelling. I started it with a task based learning and each S tried to tell his information about a country the had visited. I try to find differentiated resources for different abilities ( from books, internet, magazines.....)by the end of the semester the Ss must do their own research about a country they chose from different aspects. I hope that it can help |
