Hi dear friends, can you please help me with these two doubts?
1) can you say: - to make a holiday - to have a holiday - to do a holiday (I think this is wrong)
2) Family members: - you say grandfather and grandmother and together they are grandparents - you say mum and dad and together they are called parents - you say uncle and aunt and together they are called....?
thank you for your help. Elena

Hi, Elena,
First of all, I am helping you with your questions, not doubts. This is a common error here at ESLP.
1) In the US, we say "vacation", but I think the verbs used are the same, which would be either "have a holiday" or "take a holiday" or "go on holiday".
2) There isn t a collective term for aunts and uncles together. We say, "They are my aunt and uncle".

Aunt and uncle keep their individual being to themselves... so to speak. |

Aunt and uncle could be called relatives but the term itself is more general and isn t limitted to aunt and uncle alone. Sophia |
